Step 2: Increase Your Average Order Value (AOV)

Once you have a converting sales page, your next focus should be boosting your Average Order Value (AOV).

Why?

Because AOV determines how much you can spend to acquire a customer — and in marketing, that’s everything.

Let me give you a real example from Lag Shot:

We started by selling just the Lag Shot Seven Iron for $119.

Once a customer bought, we presented an upsell:

The Lag Shot Driver for $159 — and we gave them a Wedge for free.

This one bold move increased our AOV from $120 to $160, and that driver offer converted at 25%.

That extra $40 in AOV gave us way more buying power when running Facebook ads.

He Who Can Spend the Most Wins

This is a marketing truth that most people don’t fully understand.

Let’s break it down:

If your AOV is $120, and you want a 2X return on ad spend, the most you can spend to acquire a customer is $60.

But if you increase your AOV to $160, now you can spend $80.

Think like this:

Retargeting Is Non-Negotiable

You must have a retargeting funnel in place.

Run remarketing ads on:
  • Facebook and Instagram (retarget website visitors, video viewers, and engagers)
  • YouTube (retarget watchers and subscribers)
  • Google Display Network (retarget visitors across the web)
Retargeting campaigns often yield the highest ROAS — and plug the biggest holes in your funnel.
